6 Winter Self Care Essentials

I feel so excited to be writing some more winter themed posts and I knew I could not do blogmas without a post dedicated to my winter essentials. I thought I would put together a little list of some of my favourite skincare, body, fragrance and more homely must haves at this time of year. Winter is one of those seasons where I go way way overboard with self care and looking after myself but I think It is so important to do so especially when you feel a bit down.

For me skincare is a huge battle and I always struggle to get it just right. I have so many products I use and love but if I could only have one choice it would have to be The Body Shop Aloe Night Mask. This mask has literally saved my skin and I adore it. One thing I have noticed it really helped me with is under eye circles. I struggle majorly with sleep because of stress and this has just almost completely cleared the dark circles under my eyes and also made my skin look glowing in the morning. I use this mask twice a week just before bed and I couldn’t imagine my routine without it.

Another mask I have really been loving is Cupcake by Lush. This mask is one I use as an occasional treat and it is just so amazing. It definitely leaves the skin feeling super soft, smooth and cleansed which I love. I also really like The Lush Mask of Magnaminty and Rosy Cheeks.

Books are something I love all year round but for some reason at Christmas time I just love reading twice as much. I especially love festive themed books and I am currently reading Let It Snow which is a cute winter contemporary romance. The story is split into 3 short stories which all intertwine and take place in the same town on Christmas eve and Christmas day. This book is so cosy and great to snuggle up and read with a hot chocolate.

Winter Warmers

Winter is the perfect excuse to get a few new additions for your wardrobe. One thing I love is soft knit jumpers and ankle boots. Primark have such an amazing and affordable range this year and I have already picked up a few essentials. Another place I am so excited to check out is ASOS. I am going shopping very soon so I will probably post a haul at some point this December of all the things I picked up.

Another thing I am super excited about getting is even more homely winter warmers like throws and of course some Christmas themed bedding as well. One of my favourite parts of Christmas is decorating and making everywhere homely. I definitely need to invest in a tone more candles and some woolly socks.

I adore Christmas films and one thing I love is snuggling up with a blanket and a hot drink while watching my fave festive flick. I have like an entire post planned all about my favourite Christmas films but if I had to recommend anything of the bat it would have to be Elf, Nativity, Love Actually & The 12 Days of Giving. They are all super fun and super jolly movies that just make me so so happy.

Foodie Comforts & Festive Drinks

Christmas is the perfect excuse to go OTT on food and drink. I love baking so I definitely use Christmas as a reason to do more of that and make lots of cute Winter themed cupcakes. I also have really started to love hot chocolate way more than I did before and my new favourite recipe is this delicious gingerbread one (recipe coming soon.)

Bath, Body & Fragrance

Finally I thought I would include my bath, body and fragrance favourites. The first 2 things I have been loving are from the Zoella Beauty collection. I absolutely love hand creams especially in winter and winter wonder hand is such a subtle but lovely scent. I also really love the Snowella fragrance as well which again is very subtle but still really lovely and fresh. I have the fragrance in the mini but I definitely need a full size version as well.

The final item is actually another Lush item and this time it is from their Christmas collection. I don’t actually have a picture of this as I was impatient and used it but I have really been loving their naked shower gels in the scent snow fairy. I always loved snow fairy but I think making it packaging free was such a clever idea and is such a good way to help out the environment. I will likely have a lush themed post going up very soon so make sure you look out for that.

That is it really for my Winter Essentials and hopefully you enjoyed my post! If you have any of your own winter essentials let me know below and also make sure to leave your blog links so I can check out your blogmas posts as well.
